Cupable is a brand that sells eco-friendly, reusable party cups made from rice husk. The cups are sustainable, microwave-safe, dishwasher-safe and made for people who love a good time without trashing the planet.
The brand needed packaging that felt as fun and unconventional as the product itself. They had a tall brown kraft box, and the brief was simple: make it exciting, make it different.
So I sketched it.
The challenge was how to turn a plain brown box into something people would actually want to keep—something that feels like a collectible and not just packaging.
It also had to communicate the eco-friendly benefits clearly, while still keeping the tone super casual and fun. And it had to be done entirely in black and white, to work well with the print and the recycled texture.
I created a hand-drawn illustration that wraps around the entire box — starting from a cup turned upside down, with a stream of liquid pouring out. But the liquid doesn’t just spill—it turns into an entire party universe.
There are:
People dancing, playing beer pong, sitting in oversized cups
A cup wearing goggles saying “I am your cuptain, let’s party”
A girl sitting in a bubbly drink tub
A “buzzed” trail behind a bee
And a guy singing into a party cup while wearing boxers and a tie
Every piece of the illustration is imperfect and intentionally messy - giving it a cool, sketchbook feel that fits the brand. The front of the box features playful instructions like:
Drink responsibly. Dance irresponsibly.
Party like there is a tomorrow
There’s also a simple checklist showing what makes the cup awesome:
Eco-friendly
Reusable
Microwave & Dishwasher Safe
